ROOF ALERT™ IS A ROOF-MONITORING SYSTEM THAT NOTIFIES CLIENTS WHEN
WEATHER EVENTS AFFECTED THEIR PROPERTY AND OTHER REAL ESTATE ASSETS.
This is the simple part. Simply select which plan you think is best for your business and send My Roof Alert a company Purchase Order. Once we receive your Purchase Order, we will plot your site-specific address into our database and we will begin monitoring your property immediately.
We will also ask that the property owner (manager) to send a picture from Google Earth of the site-specific property. This allows our team to identify without error, the building we are going to monitor.
Whenever we determine that your listed property has been affected by severe weather, you will receive an e-mail with the date, timing and type (hail, wind, tornado, snow, ice) of severe weather event. We will also quantify the weather element that affected your property, such as 2 inch hail, wind gusts to 65 miles per hour, an EF2 tornado or 6 inches of snow.
Once the data from Roof Alert™ has been received, it’s up to the property owner to obtain a thorough and immediate structural inspection. You can choose your own inspection company, or use one of the recommended inspections companies, registered as a Roof Alert™ partner.
How to get Roof Alert
REAL TIME UPDATES
Sometimes it’s easy to see major visible damage from storm events, but the majority of damages are not readily visible and can add up to extensive and expensive repair costs, if not detected soon after the initial damage occurs.
With Roof Alert™, each time a property is affected by severe weather, the property representative is sent an e-mail with all the pertinent information as follows:
- Property location
- Type of severe weather event that affected property
- Date and time severe weather affected listed property.
- Preliminary weather data to support “alert”.
Once the property owner receives the message from Roof Alert™, it is the responsibility of the property owner to have a thorough inspection of the structure completed to check for damages. If damages are detected, this signals to the property owner that repairs are necessary.
By detecting structural damages as soon as possible, it permits the pending damages to be limited. When cracks, tears, rips and holes develop on rooftops, without any proactive inspection, long term damages can run into millions of dollars for repairs which may have been limited, if detected earlier.
If a rooftop inspection yields no damages, this can also be recorded by the property owner to document the rooftop condition on specific dates, in the event of future damages from severe weather. This takes the confusion out of trying to determine a date of loss from severe weather.
